MAKING THE CASE FOR REY BEING A SKYWALKER, SPECIFICALLY LUKE'S DAUGHTER

Image
I would like to start off stating that the opinions written in this post are my own and I am simply offering up a discussion from my perspective and not stating that I know any inside information about the upcoming installment of Episode VIII. I simply want to make sure that I make the effort to share my thoughts on a topic that I have been passionate about sharing in regards to the telling of the plot and making a story come full circle. Here with a topic that I wanted to share and talk about with you. I wanted to say that share with you my personal thoughts on the coming installment of the new Star Wars Trilogy with the next installment of Episode VIII. Though it has been stated and there are multiple different theories about the parentage and identities of whom our lead cast members of Finn and Rey. Still have to wait until the next installments of the film to potentially get the revelation of whom do our protagonists come from. But this take will be very simplistic as that is how...

DREAM PROJECT: update one

It is a sole desire of mine to work on my dream project in the manner I feel would best serve it as possible. I have been working hard on the foundation which is the story, making sure that I am writing as many drafts as possible to get a more solid and cohesive structure and powerful character arcs that transcend my characters from the beginning, middle and end. The goal is to make a narrative that has inspired me to want to share with people and make something that is a testament to my abilities as a storyteller and challenge myself if I am able to tell a fluid and comprehensible story with flushed out characters and a powerful beginning to end that captures the imagination of all who the film. I am working on having the new draft completed and have it broken down to have it reconstructed and make notes of what will make the plot much stronger and faster and not have any lagging points where the plot drags on. The biggest challenge often I have faced is having a very strong opening i...

"ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY" [TRAILER #2] (OFFICIAL) IN THEATERS DECEMBER 16, 2016

Image
I would have never thought in my lifetime that we would get new Star Wars film. This morning I was reminded about the love of Star Wars again for the new trailer for Star Wars: Rogue One - A Star Wars Story and it looks excellent and they should have named it Hope trailer because it really does sell on the idea of the Rebel Alliance finding hope in desperation. With the lines of "Make ten men feel like a hundred," "Save the rebellion, save the dream," "Hope. Rebellions are built on hope." "Take hold of this moment, the Force is strong." I love everything about this trailer and it seriously does sell the idea of the film. And this film is on my must see list ever since the concept of it was displayed at Star Wars Celebration last spring in 2015. Please Please Please enjoy this moment. Share it with family and friends. Have a good day with this one. It made me realized why I went to film school in the first place. In theaters December 16, 2016. ...

"DOCTOR STRANGE" [TRAILER 2] IN THEATERS NOVEMBER 4, 2016

Image
I am super excited to have the opportunity to talk about this film. I have always been a fan of Doctor Strange growing up because he has been one of the characters that seemed so complicated to bring to the silver screen and I was excited by the idea that someday we would be able to see this character come to life on celluloid. This is something that I am proud to bring forth as a post on my blog as a means of sharing my excitement with my peers across this blog and I do hope that everything can enjoy in the weeks leading up to this premiering in theaters coming November 4, 2016. I do think that Benedict Cumberbatch will do very well in the role of Dr. Stephen Strange for sure. And I am looking forward to his crossing over into the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) for Avengers: Infinity War and interacting with all of the Avengers including The Guardians of the Galaxy . Doctor Strange in theaters both 2D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D on November 4, 2016. Please do enjoy the trailer and ...

"POWER RANGERS" [TEASER TRAILER} IN THEATERS MARCH 24, 2017

Image
It is something of a wonder to actually see a revision of a tv series turned into a new revised motion picture series and it looks like Lionsgate is looking at the long game and building a franchise out of this series with the new vision for ' Power Rangers ,' scheduled for release in March of 2017. I like that the teaser trailer has set up a new idea of having a different take on the cast of kids from Angel Grove and having them in a much more serious tone that the entire story is being reworked in a way of discovering the technology and being targeted by the main villain of the story. Definitely do enjoy this new teaser trailer that has debuted on the web online and be on the look out for more trailers to come. ' Power Rangers ' in theaters on March 24, 2017.

"WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES" NEW YORK COMIC CON DIGITAL BILLBOARD

Image
This is a very short but very cool short Digital Billboard for ' War for the Planet of the Apes ' and I am super excited to see this third installment. This is something that I have been looking forward to see and definitely have been meaning to look up the behind the scenes talk via IGN coverage at New York Comic Con. The information that was talked about was very much awesome to hear where Caesar has come from the last installment after the events that happened in ' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes .' Seriously enjoy both videos and get into what is being setup for the coming sequel. Thank you for checking it out and seriously look forward to this.

STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC - KNIGHTS OF THE ETERNAL THRONE - "BETRAYED" TRAILER

Image
I am here with a much needed update with bringing you the trailer for the game of Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Eternal Throne - Betrayed Trailer . This is a cinematic trailer that is a short film in itself and simply is a Marvel to behold watching this trailer. With very few words of dialogue this trailer tells you a story and you are emotionally drawn into the story of Senya and Valyn and the tragedy that befalls them. This is really was another homerun for the team at Bioware for creating this epic cinematic trailer and you can tell that this was a motion capture masterpiece for the animation but the beauty is looking at Senya looking upon Valyn with love and compassion and wanting to protect from her Force abilities for she knows what is to come if she displays those Force powers but Valyn was inspired by the Twins from the previous trailer last year that she wanted to be as powerful as them. This is something that I think is such a grand story. Looking at the theme ...

UPDATE: FILM PROJECT IN THE WORKS

This is my first official post in a very long time. One of which is me saying something of importance in regards to something that has been in the works for years. I have been working on getting things together for crowd funding a film production that has a passion project of mine for years. It has been in writing stages and even did a lot of concept art work for the project. Have been working hard on getting everything together. I have been working for more than a decade on this project and over that time period the story and the character has evolved multiple times. I have been working on the plot and the lead character(s) have changed for the better, enabling to make them three dimensional characters and adding more depth to them. There has been a lot that has been needed to be stated and definitely has been working on getting everything together and seriously have been working on making sure that the new draft and the new plot update and the writing has been solid. Trying to mak...

[MUST SEE TRAILER] 'PASSENGERS' IN THEATERS DECEMBER 21, 2016

Image
Hello Gang! Jonathan here coming by and sharing with you one of the films that I am looking forward to seeing in theaters big time. The film known as "Passengers" was on the Black List for scripts and has been on the list of films to be made into live action. And seriously this is an awesome concept for a film that blends life and technology and the concept of love and human connection. This is something that is different and I am here to share this because I am glad to be able to see this potentially in the theater. Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt with the appearances in the trailer of Michael Sheen as well as Laurence Fishburne in quick flashes look to have some big parts to play in a film that has primarily two main characters through and it looks very promises indeed. For sure check out this trailer and enjoy.

UPDATE ON "PROOF OF CONCEPT" PROJECT

Having taken the time out I wanted to talk about something new that has been going on. I have recently been working on getting things pieced together for working on a short narrative to have things lined up as a "Proof of Concept" and have been working on the outline of a new draft of a script. The purpose of this script is to make something that is unique and have a combination of both cinematography and dialogue that pushes the story forward and seeing how to have a story that allows both to be combined in harmony. Having the capacity to show as well as tell but not having one overthrow the other but that both are perfectly balanced.  Definitely trying to challenge myself with trying various camera styles to provide something different then my standard camera on tripod and still shots but want to delve into having the camera moving around utilize it as a tool to tell the story alongside the characters and the dialogue and the environment. Seriously have been trying to make ...

"STAR WARS: AFTERMATH: LIFE DEBT" [REVIEW COMING SOON]

Image
Hello everyone,  Jonathan here and as I am trying to work on my second part of the new blog, "Adaptations and Expectations" but in the meantime I want to give you an update that I am working on getting things lined up for my next novel review for " Star Wars: Aftermath: Life Debt " and just wanted to keep you posted on it. Stay tuned because I can say this novel is very good and is breaking down small tidbits and setting up events leading to " Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens."

ADAPTATION VS EXPECTATION PART 2

To pick up where we last left I want to say that going to the movie should be a grand time and not just a run of the mill experience. Be it that you are a fan or you are someone that is interested in seeing a motion picture, going out of your house and traveling to a multiplex to seeing a motion picture on the big screen should be treated an event because you and a massive number of other individuals have flocked to the theater from all walks of life, all different beliefs and lifestyles and are sitting down in a dark room and sharing an experience. One that only one experiences by going to the theater to enjoy a film. It's a lot of money being spent between parking, concession, the ticket prices themselves and if you need babysitters for your children. So taking all of those things into account let us circle back into the discussion previously in the first part.  For the moviegoers that have Pre-Knowledge and have been saving up money and made customs for the midnight showing or b...

ADAPTATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS / SOURCE MATERIAL V. FILM ADAPTATION [PART 1]

Hello everyone, Here with another posting and today's subject is something that has come about to be very close to me as it pertains to the love of film and the love of original source material. In the past decade or just over time there have a been adaptations of literature, comic books and graphic novels (yes, there is a big difference between the two) and when productions are release either theatrically or online or hard copy there will be a divide on the film adaptation. This has been proven time and time again from Lord of the Rings to Marvel and DC cinematic releases. In this post, I intend to try to provide both perspectives and also do my best to provide a filmmaker's perspective as well as the third view. So bare with me on this one and please enjoy the ride. THE MOVIEGOER PERSPECTIVE  Our first perspective comes from the moviegoer. This one particular individual or individuals can be divided to two groups (pre knowledge moviegoers and non pre knowledge mov...

NON SPOILER REVIEW OF 'STAR WARS: BLOODLINES'

Image
Hello Everyone, Wanted to take the time to share my thoughts in a non spoiler way for the novelization of the ' Star Wars: Bloodline ' by author Claudia Gray. The novel I found to have a very position in offering more detail and insight into my views on watching ' Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens ' and gives much needed backstory to help cover some of the information that I was wondering about as far as the set up of the plot for some of our main characters, both protagonists and antagonists. The purpose of this blog is to share as much of thoughts on the novel without spoiling any of the details moving forward as best as humanly possible. There are small tidbits that are to be broken down by nothing more than general information needed to help set up where the novel is taking place in the timeline of the story leading into the film. To begin, the novel is set six years before the events of ' The Force Awakens ' and we find our main protagonist in ...

'GOD OF WAR' [PS4 ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER]

Image
Good morning, afternoon or evening to whomever around the whole may read this message. I am here trying to send a new update with the events that have come from E3 2016 just a few days ago. It has been an amazing time indeed to see all of the new and upcoming games. One of which I wanted to share is the upcoming new release, " God of War " which looks to have an older Kratos, now having a son that he is mentoring to become a hunter. This is something that really had a grand appeal from the crowd reaction seeing the new game trailer and the cinematic nature of the gameplay and it takes the series into a new direction and is a reminder of how " The Last of Us " gameplay worked with the young character assisting you in the battle. The story looks very layered our lead character of Kratos is in conflict trying to both serve as a mentor in training his son as well as protecting him and being a father to his son at the same time. It is all subtle but it hits home when...

Hello everyone!  Wanted to take the time to say thank you for taking the time in reading this new entry as the first blog for the new year. I apologize for not being online as much.
