Image
Hello everyone,  Jonathan here and as I am trying to work on my second part of the new blog, "Adaptations and Expectations" but in the meantime I want to give you an update that I am working on getting things lined up for my next novel review for " Star Wars: Aftermath: Life Debt " and just wanted to keep you posted on it. Stay tuned because I can say this novel is very good and is breaking down small tidbits and setting up events leading to " Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens."

ADAPTATION VS EXPECTATION PART 2

To pick up where we last left I want to say that going to the movie should be a grand time and not just a run of the mill experience. Be it that you are a fan or you are someone that is interested in seeing a motion picture, going out of your house and traveling to a multiplex to seeing a motion picture on the big screen should be treated an event because you and a massive number of other individuals have flocked to the theater from all walks of life, all different beliefs and lifestyles and are sitting down in a dark room and sharing an experience. One that only one experiences by going to the theater to enjoy a film. It's a lot of money being spent between parking, concession, the ticket prices themselves and if you need babysitters for your children. So taking all of those things into account let us circle back into the discussion previously in the first part.  For the moviegoers that have Pre-Knowledge and have been saving up money and made customs for the midnight showing or b...

ADAPTATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS / SOURCE MATERIAL V. FILM ADAPTATION [PART 1]

Hello everyone, Here with another posting and today's subject is something that has come about to be very close to me as it pertains to the love of film and the love of original source material. In the past decade or just over time there have a been adaptations of literature, comic books and graphic novels (yes, there is a big difference between the two) and when productions are release either theatrically or online or hard copy there will be a divide on the film adaptation. This has been proven time and time again from Lord of the Rings to Marvel and DC cinematic releases. In this post, I intend to try to provide both perspectives and also do my best to provide a filmmaker's perspective as well as the third view. So bare with me on this one and please enjoy the ride. THE MOVIEGOER PERSPECTIVE  Our first perspective comes from the moviegoer. This one particular individual or individuals can be divided to two groups (pre knowledge moviegoers and non pre knowledge mov...

NON SPOILER REVIEW OF 'STAR WARS: BLOODLINES'

Image
Hello Everyone, Wanted to take the time to share my thoughts in a non spoiler way for the novelization of the ' Star Wars: Bloodline ' by author Claudia Gray. The novel I found to have a very position in offering more detail and insight into my views on watching ' Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens ' and gives much needed backstory to help cover some of the information that I was wondering about as far as the set up of the plot for some of our main characters, both protagonists and antagonists. The purpose of this blog is to share as much of thoughts on the novel without spoiling any of the details moving forward as best as humanly possible. There are small tidbits that are to be broken down by nothing more than general information needed to help set up where the novel is taking place in the timeline of the story leading into the film. To begin, the novel is set six years before the events of ' The Force Awakens ' and we find our main protagonist in ...

'GOD OF WAR' [PS4 ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER]

Image
Good morning, afternoon or evening to whomever around the whole may read this message. I am here trying to send a new update with the events that have come from E3 2016 just a few days ago. It has been an amazing time indeed to see all of the new and upcoming games. One of which I wanted to share is the upcoming new release, " God of War " which looks to have an older Kratos, now having a son that he is mentoring to become a hunter. This is something that really had a grand appeal from the crowd reaction seeing the new game trailer and the cinematic nature of the gameplay and it takes the series into a new direction and is a reminder of how " The Last of Us " gameplay worked with the young character assisting you in the battle. The story looks very layered our lead character of Kratos is in conflict trying to both serve as a mentor in training his son as well as protecting him and being a father to his son at the same time. It is all subtle but it hits home when...

MISSION STATEMENT FOR BLOG IN 2016 AND FORWARD

Hello everyone!  Wanted to take the time to say thank you for taking the time in reading this new entry as the first blog for the new year. I apologize for not being online as much. Seriously have been trying to take care of a lot personal things that have taken place in my personal life and finally have been getting some breathing space to make things happen. And with that, I am able to return back to my writing about various things that I have desired to make new content and creative ideas from the traditional trailers that I normally post on here but this time going into details other than just posting a brief paragraph.  I can say that I am working on having more writing and more articles to read about specific things that I find intriguing and interesting and have more interviews lined up in the near future. Definitely trying to make sure that this blog is a platform for a variety of different subjects, from entertainment to technology. The blog I am aiming to reinvent in...
